UPDATE #1

It’s been a long and productive day on the ground in Kathmandu. We rallied the troops and were able to purchase a good deal of necessary relief supplies to take to Yarsa VDC in Rasuwa district. Despite goods being held up in customs, at borders, and on the tarmac, and the difficulty of transport all over, our Dragons Program House driveway was transformed into a supply center piled high with hundreds of kilos of rice, beaten rice, lentils, instant noodles, biscuits, water purification, medicine, tarps, foam sleeping mats, sleeping bags and medical supplies. This will be a whirlwind overnight trip to provide much needed food and assess the surrounding areas for need in the short and long term. Two doctors, enabling us to do a basic health assessment of the villagers, will also support this mission. Thus far, no aid has arrived in this area and the majority of homes, fields, and food supplies have been destroyed. We are so looking forward to seeing our porter friends again after such a sad goodbye one week ago – they left us to return to their families who they hadn’t heard from yet. All the families survived, but lost all their material foundation. We are so happy to be able to support them during this difficult time.

Sorting out Meds for our relief mission

Sorting out Meds for our relief mission

Please help me through Himalayan Quests support my staff and partner communities through providing relief and by rebuilding their lives, homes and villages.

By making a donation you will enable me to have direct access to funds to use where there is great need, but that will not be reached by the larger aid agencies or the Nepal government.

100% of funds raised will go to support the communities that have enabled us to earn a living over the years and we will keep strict records on the expenditure, while endeavouring to update our donors on how and where the monies are being spent.

Please give generously and help us support and rebuild these communities one brick at a time.
