In 2013 HQ organised and ran its first series of free multi-discipline health camps in rural villages in the mid west of Nepal, offering locals access to health care not readily accessible in the area. Treating individuals, who would otherwise go untreated, these health camps make a powerful and lasting change in the lives of the thousands of patients that visit.
In the first three years we have reached over 5,500 patients, performing in excess of 7,500 consultations across the following disciplines: general health, eyes, dental, women’s health and physiotherapy.
Post camps we organise free cataract surgery for those that need it, restoring the gift of sight and in some cases, the ability to work once again.
The health camps are now established as an annual event, each year getting bigger and busier.
