Nestled in the lush green hills of Lamjung, Simpani Village is a community that embodies resilience. Surrounded by natural beauty, the villagers face daily challenges in accessing essential healthcare. For the people of Simpani, their local health post is far more than a building; it’s a lifeline.
The existing health post, constructed in 1995, has endured earthquakes, wear and has limited resources. After the 2015 earthquake, it was red-stickered and deemed fragile, yet it has continued to serve the community for decades. As our team spoke with the staff and villagers, the reality became clear: the facility is too small, overcrowded and lacks the privacy needed for mothers, children and elders to feel secure while receiving care.
Cracks in the walls and crowded rooms tell a story of endurance, but also of urgent need. The community deserves better, safer, more functional spaces that provide quality healthcare with dignity.
That hope is now taking shape. Villagers, local leaders and partners have come together to survey a new site for the health post. This isn’t just a construction plan; it’s a collective vision for a healthier, stronger Simpani. The land marks the foundation of a facility that will serve as a centre of care, trust and community empowerment.
With the support of Himalayan Quests Foundation, Wishner Family (Wishner5) and local stakeholders, this new health post will bring more than healthcare closer to home. It will restore privacy, provide dignity and ignite hope for generations to come.
