Amrit, after receiving a call this morning re the need for some tarps for some Tibetan refugees in Jhorpati, Boudha, Kathmandu, who had nothing to shelter underneath having been driven from their homes in fear during yesterday’s 7.4 magnitude quake, he and his Tibetan speaking friend Sarah raided their store of supplies ready for the next mission to help them out.
By 10am the makeshift shelters were up, and our Tibetan friends could relax a bit knowing they now had shelter from the elements.
We are currently working on a mission to take supplies to Sindhupalchok – everything is ready to go, shelter, food, doctor, medicines and hygiene supplies – it is just down to establishing which roads are open after many landslides were caused during yesterday’s quake and whether or not we can logistically get the relief to where it is most needed. We are in contact with some locals and they will let us know when the roads are open.
