Day 2 of Camp 1 saw a steady increase in the number of patients arriving to be seen as the locals took time out from planting to see to their aches, pains and medical worries.

The camp’s optometrists are the most sort after specialists, as it is not often the locals get the opportunity to have their eyes checked for free

Part of our philosophy is to take time with each patient and treat them with kindness and compassion and not just process them as quickly as possible

After a long hot day, 365 consultations were performed by our eye, dental, physio, general and midwife teams. There is one more day of health checks at this camp, and we expect there to be a last minute rush, as the locals realise it will be their last chance to have their problems seen to
